Build a Mosque in This World & Build Your Place in Jannah
A mosque is the heart of every Muslim community. Beyond being a place of worship, mosques serve as spaces for education, social support, and hubs for essential community services.
Follow the Sunnah
Follow the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). Building a mosque in Islam holds great significance, as one of the first acts of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) upon arriving in Madinah was to build a mosque. You too can follow in the footsteps of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) by contributing toward building a place of worship where others can pray.
Building a Mosque is a form of Sadaqah Jariyah
Building a mosque is a form of Islamic charity. The importance of charity is repeatedly emphasized in both the Qur’an and the teachings of the Prophet (PBUH).
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
“When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three things: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity); knowledge which is beneficial; or a virtuous descendant who prays for him.” — Muslim
Sadaqah Jariyah is a charity that continues to benefit you even after death. Every time someone prays, learns, or remembers Allah in a mosque you helped build, you or the person you donated on behalf of will continue to receive rewards.
Why It’s Important to Help Build a Mosque
A dedicated place of worship is vital for any Muslim community. However, many Muslim communities—especially in rural areas of Uganda—do not have access to proper mosques. By helping build a mosque, you provide a sacred space for prayer, learning, and unity, allowing the community to come together in faith.

“Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah, Allah will build for him a house in Paradise.” — Bukhari
At Sanyu Charity, we are committed to constructing new mosques and rehabilitating existing ones in underserved Muslim communities across Uganda. You can choose to fund the full cost of a mosque or contribute a partial donation.
This is a powerful form of Sadaqah Jariyah—your charity continues to benefit you as long as the mosque remains in use. By supporting this project, you will share in the prayers, blessings, and spiritual rewards of every worshipper who steps inside.
